Woman was found in burned car near Florida air base
EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. — Investigators are releasing few details after identifying the body of Senior Airman Tamera Moniq Bolden-Cleckley of Boerne found Sept. 23 in a burned car on federal property.
The 26-year-old woman, who enlisted in 2021, was assigned to the 96th Surgical Operations Squadron as a radiology technician, Air Force officials said.
At press time, the Air Force Office of Special Investigations said “no further information will be released at this time.”
Military officials expressed their condolences and support over social media.
“Senior Airman Bolden-Cleckley was a valued member of the 96th Test Wing team, and we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow airmen during this difficult time,” said Col. Chris Keithley, 96 TW commander. “We remain committed to supporting those affected by this loss and encourage anyone who needs assistance to reach out to any of our helping agencies.”
An Eglin AFB employee who found the car at Range Road 234 and Lewis Turner Boulevard notified local aw enforcement, officials said. Both the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the 96th Security Forces Squadron patrols responded. The scene was immediately turned over to the AFOSI; the Air Force medical examiner identified the body as Bolden-Cleckley.
According to the military, the intersection of 234 and Lewis Turner is not on the main airbase, but it is part of the Eglin Test and Training Range Complex, which is federal property.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the loss of Senior Airman Bolden- Cleckley, one of our teammates. During this incredibly difficult time, I want to extend my deepest condolences to Tamera’s family, friends and all those who knew and cared for her,” said Col. Daniel Micsunescu, 96th SGOS commander.
The Air Force and local agencies are providing counseling services and support to those affected by the tragedy, according to a release.
