Live! at the Library on Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7 p.m.,
Come enjoy the music of Covenants Creek Band Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. during Live! At The Library.
Hailing from the Texas Hill Country, Covenants Creek brings an energetic, eclectic blend of folk rock, rock, pop, soul, and acoustic sounds to the stage.
Known for tight harmonies and dynamic musical style, the band features talented musicians, including lead guitarist Aiden Bowser and rhythm guitarist Andy Garcia.
Be sure to bring a picnic supper and comfy seating. Perhaps it will even be a little chilly, so be prepared to dress warmly.
Publishing tips
Are you dreaming of publishing a book but not sure where to begin? On Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., we are offering a free workshop that introduces new writers to the publishing world, explaining the three main paths: traditional, indie/self-publishing, and hybrid.
Learn the pros and cons of each route, realistic costs and common pitfalls to avoid. Regional author April W. Gardner will lead the workshop, and sign copies of her “craft” books following the program.
Join us in the second-floor conference for this event.
New crafting program We have begun a new crafting program for adults called “Arts & Crafts Friday”, and each week it will feature a different crafting style.
We’ve already hosted our watercolor event Nov. 6, but you still have the opportunity to sign up for our crochet class with Michelle Diaz, which takes place at 1 p.m. Nov. 13.
The following Friday, the topic will be paint pouring, and craft guru Jacque Stensrud will be facilitating it.
We are skipping the last Friday of the month due to the holiday, but you’ll get the opportunity to learn crafting on the first three Fridays of December. All these classes do require registration, so please visit our web calendar and sign up today.
This month’s exhibit For the month of November, the Boerne Visual Artists group will be showcasing paintings that fit the theme of “Edge of Autumn.” The paintings will be available for viewing anytime during library business hours.
Library closures
The library will be closed on Wednesday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day. We will also be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, and Friday, Nov. 27, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
We will be open on Saturday, Nov. 28. Please keep in mind that you can conduct much of your library business on our website or on our MyLibro app.
