Art and wine; memorial concert; memorial service


CELEBRATING THE ARTS

Members of our community are invited to a free Memorial Day Concert, performed by Boerne Concert Band, beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 24, at Boerne Main Plaza.

The band will perform patriotic classics to honor and remember our Armed Forces, and those who made the ultimate sacrifice in past wars.

Musical selections include American Jubilee, Star Spangled Spectacular, The Peace of Nations, Arlington, Irving Berlin’s Songs for America, Salute to the Armed Forces, and more.

Art, Wine Fest Weekend

Hill Country Art and Wine Festival is this weekend, May 22-23 on the Boerne Main Plaza. Spend Memorial Day weekend in the heart of Boerne enjoying fine art, Texas wine, live music and Hill Country Charm.

The fest opens Friday, May 22, from 4-8 p.m. and features an elevated evening reception with wineries from across Texas, live Jazz, fine art and a curated auction experience.

The crux of the Art and Wine Fest happens 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday on Main Plaza and is free and open to the public. Browse art booths where you can visit with the artists, meet Texas winery representatives, enjoy curated food vendors, live music, poetry and drumming, and student art throughout the day.

Start the day with Mimosas on Main, a ticketed morning gathering from 10 a.m. to noon, and supporting our BISD student artists. For complete details, refer to www.hccarts.org.

HCCArts Mini Workshop

Chris Lange presents Color Theory in the Round, May 30, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Classroom at The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, 102 City Park Road in Boerne.

Helotes Gallery invites you to “Reflections in Paint,” a debut exhibit by local artist Bobby Gombert, featuring a collection of abstract expressionist paintings, on Saturday, May 30, reception, 2-6:30 pm.

Memorial service for Rob Ziegler, from 2-4 p.m. June 6. Community friends invited.
