Boerne Champion advanced to the second round of the 5A baseball playoffs with a 2-1 win over Buda Hays in Game 3 on Saturday.
The Chargers won the first game but the Hawks evened their series at 1-1 after the Hawks defeated the Chargers in the second game, 8-6.
Champion took a 1-0 series lead by taking Game 1 at home on Thursday, 6-2.
Boerne High
The Greyhounds were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round by Cedar Park.
After a Game 1 loss to the Timberwolves, 6-4, Boerne bounced back to win Game 2 on Saturday at Buda Johnson, 2-1.
Cedar Park won the third game, 5-2, to advance. Boerne scored both its runs in the seventh and loaded the bases but the Wolves got out of the jam to end it.
