SAN ANTONIO – The Boerne Champion baseball team took Game 1 over Southwest Thursday night at NS Field 3 or Sotomayor High School.
Champion won 2-1 in eight innings for the 1-0 series lead.
The Chargers and Dragons will play Game 2 Friday at the same field at 6 p.m. The game was moved up an hour in hopes of beating expectant bad weather.
A third game, if needed, will take place Saturday at noon.
