SAN ANTONIO – Southwest evened their series with Boerne Champion by winning Game 2 Friday at Sotomayor, 4-3.
The decisive Game 3 is Saturday at noon at Sotomayor.
Southwest scored an unearned run in the first and tallied 3 in the fourth for the 4-0 lead. Champion started to rally late and scored two runs in the sixth to make it 4-2.
The Chargers added another run in the seventh and it was 4-3. Champion had the bases loaded with two outs and had the tying run at third and the winning run at second since they were the home team, but Southwest recorded the final out with an infield pop up to end it.
Game 1
The Boerne Champion baseball team took Game 1 over Southwest Thursday night at NS Field 3 or Sotomayor High School.
Champion won 2-1 in eight innings for the 1-0 series lead.
